PetFriends Services is a hotline that provides free 24 hour grief support to NJ pet owners.  Call 856-234-4688 or 1-800-404-PETS to speak with a trained compassionate and non-judgmental support counselor.  

 

The Monmouth Country SPCA also has a Pet Loss Hot Line.  To request a call back from Bob Szita MS, LPC, Co-Director of Contemporary Counseling Center of Marlboro, NJ and Pet Loss Counselor for the MCSPCA, contact the Pet Memorial Service at 732-542-0040.  MCSPCA also holds a Pet Memorial Service once a year in September.

Oradell Animal Hospital in Paramus, NJ, offers a pet bereavement class that meats once a month on Tuesday evenings at 7pm.  Participants may attend up to 5 classes over the course of a year free of charge.


The Companion Animal Related  Emotions Pet Loss Helpline is a confidential telephone service offered through the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.  People who are either grieving the loss of a companion animal or are anticipating a loss are encouraged to call.  If you need a compassionate, understanding person to talk to, we are here to listen and to support you.  We are here Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings 7-9 pm Central Time.  Our toll-free telephone number is:  (877) 394-CARE (2273).  If you are in the Champaign, Illinois area, our local telephone number is (217) 244-CARE (2273).
